JUNIOR PROGRAM

JUNIOR PROGRAM

This season we will be fielding teams in the Rookies, U/12, U/14 and U/16 competitions of the South East Cricket Association (SECA). The Rookies program is the perfect transition from Master Blast to Junior Cricket before they move into an U/12 graded team. In addition, we also field teams in the All Girls Cricket Competition.

For Junior Blaster program (4 - 7 years old) go to Mordialloc’s Junior Blaster Page

For Master Blaster (7 - 9 years old) go to Mordialloc’s Master Blaster page

Our Junior Coaching Panel are all accredited coaches with at least Level 0 qualification.

All junior sides are based at Doug Denyer Reserve, McDonald Street, Mordialloc. Some home games are played at other close by ovals if required.

Fees and Registration:

Fees for the Junior program are $140 and $120 for additional siblings (exclusive of association fees). Registration is made through Cricket Victoria's Play Cricket website. Register from the link above.

Session Times:

The season is set to commence on Friday 7th of October. Home games will most often be played at Doug Denyer Reserve, McDonald Street, Mordialloc. Teams play on Friday afternoons and Saturday or Sunday morning depending on the age group and grade.

Program:

The format depends on the year level and grade and is designed to help junior players graduate to full format cricket. See Cricket Victoria's website for more information.

Volunteers:

We need volunteers. No previous cricket experience is necessary. A program such as this needs parents to volunteer and help work with the coaches. Each team requires a Coach and a Team Manager to assist in coordinating the team. We recommend all parents rotate with scoring each game.

Clothing:
All children must wear a hat, sunscreen, and appropriate shoes (runners). Each player is required to wear a Mordialloc Cricket Club playing shirt.

Weather:

At all times, Mordialloc Junior Cricket Club will conduct games in a safe environment. The program is held outdoors so the weather will (and does) affect us. Mordialloc Junior Cricket Club reserves the right to cancel a session if the ground is unsafe for any reason. The following weather cancellation policies apply:

  • Wet weather: if it is pouring on the day and the ground is likely to be saturated. It is up to parents’ discretion on intermittent rainy days.

  • Hot weather: if the temperature reaches the temperature outlined by SECA's or AGCC's hot weather policy, we will cancel the session.
